Ricky has contributed to the musical eduction of over 1000 students directly as a private tutor and many more through his involvement in various programs and as the founder of boutique music school - Merimbula School Of Music.
He first began teaching guitar at a local music school at the early age of 16. After finishing school he continued to teach guitar, singing and performance at various music schools in Sydney and was soon teaching full time.
At the age of 24 Ricky started his own school in a small office space in Merimbula and as the sole teacher initially offered tuition for guitar, drums, piano, singing and performance.
Over the next 4 years the school developed into a professional provider of quality private music tuition and expanded into a purpose built facility with a recording studio. Ricky then gradually employed a team of 9 professional music teachers to service the growing demand for tuition as student enrolments grew to around 200 students a week.
In January, 2020 Ricky sold the Merimbula School Of Music to fellow musician Nick Keeling and retired from private teaching.
As a passionate advocate for the value of music education Ricky continues to work with various organisations including Garrijimanha, The Talent Development Project and Music Australia.
